Volunteer staff

Q: We are very short staffed. Can volunteers fill in, and how do I find and train volunteers?

A: For emergency volunteer staffing, contact the Emergency Support Function #14 at the NH Department of Safety at ESF14@dos.nh.gov.

You can also contact Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) directly, copying ESF14@dos.nh.gov so that DOS can assist with Emergency Worker Status under NH RSA 21-P:41 and NH RSA 21-P:53.

The CDC maintains a Training for Healthcare Professionals page and it has several COVID-19 related offerings, including for long term care and nursing home staff, that might help volunteers.

The website TRAIN.org also offers free training for different levels and professions, including volunteers. Offerings include a number of COVID related topics. Registration is required, but free. TRAIN modules can fulfill CEU’s for licensure.
